Downtown Sarasota is known for charming walkable streets and Gulfstream Avenue’s luxury residences with stellar views of Sarasota Bay. Prestigious Palm Avenue is lined with luxury condos and specialty retail, art galleries and restaurants. Historic neighborhoods like Laurel Park blend with sleek new homes, town homes and condominiums amidst Towles Court Artist Colony and Burns Court which is home to the independent cinema.

The streets of Sarasota come alive with festivals of wine, comedy, exotic automobiles, art, music, a farmer’s market and a lively mix of residents and visitors from around the world. Marina Jack is home to vessels of virtually any size and is a jumping off point for charter fishing and sailing. 

On the edge of downtown, you will find Selby Gardens, a 15-acre campus and urban Bayfront oasis showing a living collection of rare and beautiful tropical plants. Selby is nationally recognized for exhibitions of horticultural and garden displays tied to works by well-known artists as well as live performances and lectures. 

Walking distance from downtown is the new Sarasota Art Museum offering classes, exhibits and a café. Downtown is filled with shopping, theatres, restaurants and is just a bike ride to St. Armands Circle and Lido Beach.
