Nokomis

Calusa Lakes is a nationally recognized golf community in Nokomis, Florida. The landscape of Calusa is more heavily wooded with Florida slash pines and oaks than most tropical golf courses. Calusa Lakes is a relaxed community of independent homes on large wooded lots as well as maintenance free villas. Prices from the $300’s to the $700’s. Mission Valley Estates was created for golfers and horse lovers. The neighborhood has a ranch country atmosphere with lots exceeding two acres. Older homes start in the high $300’s and newer custom-built homes in the Preserve of Mission Valley are priced in the $800’s. The Mission Valley Golf & Country Club was established in 1967 on 200 acres. The course has few homes along its borders and there are no roads to cross so it is an excellent walking golf course. Willow Chase is a community off Laurel Road in Nokomis with tennis, a community pool resort-style amenities. Several companies are currently building two and three bedroom homes in the $350,000-450,000 range. South Sorrento Shores homes in Nokomis are a little more land locked than the Sorrento Shores community just north in Osprey. Sorrento Shores boaters enjoy the benefits of direct access into the ICW Bay waters without any fixed bridges. The neighborhood of Sorrento Shores offers 11 boat slips and one guest slip to Sorrento Shore residents whose homes are not located on the water for a modest annual fee.
